BRICS experts discussed current issues in the development of hydrogen energy

CEO of H2 Invest Mr. Anton Kovalevsky and Deputy-CEO Mr. Victor Medvedev have reported on advanced methods of transporting and storing hydrogen at the online meeting of BRICS Energy Research Platform’s experts.

The session was held by the Russian Energy Agency of the Ministry of Energy of Russia.

Experts from UAE, Brazil, Egypt, Iran and Russia have discussed strategic goals and environmental sustainability, harmonization of standards and methodological approaches to low-carbon hydrogen certification.

Particular attention was paid to mechanisms for financing and attracting investment in industry projects, exchange of experience and advanced developments, as well as strengthening international cooperation in the field of hydrogen innovation.

Representatives of relevant ministries, companies and research organizations of the BRICS countries noted the importance of cooperation in developing and implementing strategies to solve key problems related to hydrogen technologies and their role in achieving sustainable development goals.

According to the participants, the results of the meeting will form the basis for further exchange of knowledge and experience. The developed recommendations will be presented and discussed in detail at the second meeting of the BRICS Senior Energy Officials Committee in July 2024.
